Every week we gather to seek the flourishing of men who have experienced incarceration.

Our Weekly Programs

Every Thursday a group of volunteers heads into the Davidson County Jail in Nashville to gather with inmates in worship. The services are primarily led by the inmates and facilitated by our volunteers and staff. During this time the Word is preached, there is opportunity for prayer and we all sing together.

Our Jobs For Life class happens in the jail and provides a special space for reflection and personal growth. It is here that many of the men set a vision for their life that they continue to hold themselves to long after their release. This class is also where we initially create deep relationships with the men experiencing incarceration.

Every Monday evening a group of our volunteers gather with men who have been released to break bread and check in with each other. It is the desire of Church of Another Chance to walk with the men in our program long after they have been released. We often refer to this gathering as “a family meal” where we bear each other’s burdens and address each other’s needs.

Most of the men we work with have been stuck in cycles of addiction and desperation. Many who get out don’t have anywhere to go so they return to the places and relationships that fostered their addictions and criminality. Our Director of Re-Entry meets guys at the gate upon release and helps them find a stable and healthy place to start building a new life.

“I had nothing to look forward to in life. I was thinking of killing myself. You guys really cared. I am alive today because of this. Church of Another Chance saved my life”
